This bed is pretty old though. I made it in August but never bothered to post it. It's here! It's fina-lully here! For you who don't get that, check out Homestarrunner. They said they thought it was government stuff, something about customs. But the sharp eyed reader can see that the green part clearly says:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 306px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/Sp13PUkOfmI/AAAAAAAAAFU/35igawH1h08/s320/IMG_0886.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376584635252637282" />

TOY PARTS. But the thing that I just don't get is that it came all the way from the states. But the Lego distributor for Canada is in Richmond Hill, just a few hours drive from here. And the base of operations for Canada is Markham, just outside of Toronto, also a few hours from my house. Oh well. Hey, there's a letter inside! Let's start with this little establishing shot:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoVzg3QrnKI/AAAAAAAAACU/OVVcyuHhqFk/s320/IMG_0249.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369825139136109730" />

As you can see with this mugshot, I built it so that it can mesh perfectly with the official Lego City sets.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoVz3u1BRAI/AAAAAAAAACc/DsDl8PiAxiU/s320/IMG_0250.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369825532009595906" />

It also has a skylight and a door on the back. A door is essential to all ambulances, of course. How else are you supposed to get the patients in?!?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV4G2wnbpI/AAAAAAAAACk/e7prp6WhCZI/s320/IMG_0251.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369830189883158162" />

Hey look! The door can open. Also essential.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV4ohWtDeI/AAAAAAAAACs/5c2zi7JgsJ8/s320/IMG_0252.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369830768252882402" />

Another nifty feature is the skylight can open. Also essential because you can't actually fit my stretcher in through the door.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV5UtBEg6I/AAAAAAAAAC0/c4AQJY67XcE/s320/IMG_0254.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369831527297614754" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV5VAzjjOI/AAAAAAAAAC8/2Nxy6fTVdQY/s320/IMG_0255.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369831532609637602" />

Speaking of the stretcher, here it is!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV57-XSU0I/AAAAAAAAADE/K614LTHeWSA/s320/IMG_0256.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369832201969095490" />

It can snugly fit a minifigure and has a pillow for extra comfort.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV6OXPqWqI/AAAAAAAAADM/wH1Jf-uwF-U/s320/IMG_0258.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369832517885647522" />

Instructions are below, if you want to make it.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV6q6THAJI/AAAAAAAAADU/8N4DKN0ca9k/s320/IMG_0257.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369833008331686034" />

You can also kinda shove the stretcher in through the door for an action-packed MOC scene. Or just to show how great your LEGO city's healthcare plan is.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV7pFEaqqI/AAAAAAAAADc/hPvZBBBhtGI/s320/IMG_0259.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369834076374739618" />

I also added a crappy looking IV. I've had many bad experiences with an IV before. Like when they duct taped it to my arm and ripped it off after they... But I'm getting off track here. Notice you can actually fit a whole person and the stretcher in there.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV8htF2xAI/AAAAAAAAADk/IOeuk3EyulU/s320/IMG_0262.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369835049190867970" />

Also notice my crappy excuse for paramedics that kinda look like construction workers. Yes, I'm a slacker.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SoV9U_Tl6cI/AAAAAAAAADs/aqQZ3j6wKOw/s320/IMG_0264.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369835930253650370" />

You might be wondering why I didn't make it white. Well, white's boring. And I don't have any good white car-building pieces. But I'll be getting a new camera soon, so the pictures will be in full HD! Once I get 400 greenbacks of course. But then again, Canada has weird money colours. Like purple and red. And blue.

Hobey-ho, Brickwasp.

Messing Up At The Falls

Well, the title says it all. I went to Niagara Falls, Canada and went to a lovely little attraction called Brick City. It features a giant Lego city built by some Polish guy over 5 years. I took over 100 great photos of it and came home. I put the memory card in the computer, left it in for a while, then my slightly autistic brain took over. I created and firmly implanted a false memory of me loading the pictures on. I then proceeded to take out the memory card and delete every picture off of it. And that's why there's no pictures. I'll add my two-month old fire ambulance sometime soon, like in the next week.

Hobey-ho, Brickwasp

Biff Boffman, Space Explorer

Facing danger with an unsettling smile, exploring the deepest reaches of space with no fear, and always managing to get home before bedtime...

It's Biff Boffman, space explorer!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmkIbkzEyNI/AAAAAAAAAB0/00Mq2KOIQWU/s320/IMG_0581.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361826101188675794" />

I wanted to make a spaceman using that trans-clear globe I've never found a use for. A set review. Yawn.

Today's set is number 7639 Camper. There's a link to it on yesterday's blog. Just looking at the box, it's a pretty nice looking camper.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmNAux3iagI/AAAAAAAAAA8/Xb2LTIOaln0/s320/camperbox.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360199153905461762" />

If you are smart, like me, you'll realize it's a redo of Surf N' Sail Camper. Here's the picture.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 223px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmNBgGhQu9I/AAAAAAAAABE/f1Dp80hRXuk/s320/surfnsail.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360200001262762962" />

So anyway, back to the review. The overview promises a small camper/R.V. with at least a chair inside besides the driver seat.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmNFQIqFApI/AAAAAAAAABM/684xiIPIIxU/s320/IMG_0442.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360204125005218450" />

And, looking at the picture below, Lego didn't disappoint. Actually, they passed the standard. Two chairs!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmNGEDno2_I/AAAAAAAAABU/8ZckgXot7Ok/s320/IMG_0453.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360205017006005234" />

The accessories are slightly lame. Two mugs. Bleh. A bike. Cool! A surfboard that I'm not excited about because I have no idea what to do with it. A pot. Bleh. And lastly, a fish on a glowy trans-red grill-tile. Really, Lego Company. I could do better. I would have at least made a decent grill!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmNNZRMcdJI/AAAAAAAAABc/vnJmTGn2R80/s320/IMG_0469.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360213078008689810" />

Guy: (speaks in monotone voice) Wow, I never knew a fish on a glowy red thing could be so exciting.
Girl: (speaks in monotone voice) This is even better than the Fireplace channel!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmNatYqJ1AI/AAAAAAAAABk/xW-G4_o_V04/s320/IMG_0458.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360227717260891138" />

I think this is supposed to be some sort of bed. I'm not sure, but the girl figure can't fit in it because of her awesome hair.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_sAdFkeHqiss/SmNbcr_JEcI/AAAAAAAAABs/GMEliXDvJaA/s320/IMG_0464.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360228529903047106" />

At least they added a ladder on the back.

My rating of this set:
7/10 for pieces
10/10 for playability
10/10 for minifigures
4/10 for vehicle itself
5/10 for acessories

All in all... 8/10. A pretty good set, but obviously more geared towards children under 10. Well, that's all for today. I'm off to modify the set and listen to some Gorillaz.

Ciao!

Hello Everybody!

Hello everybody and welcome to the first post of Brickwasp. This website was originally going to be named BrickHornet, but someone obviously heard about that and for a mean joke stole that name before I turned thirteen and could get a blog.
